What is ADHD?
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a chronic mental health condition that constitutes impulsiveness, hyperactivity, and attention difficulty. Children with ADHD can either be hyperactive, inattentive, or a combination of both.
Symptoms of ADHD
Children with ADHD may experience changes in mood, behavior, and cognitive functions. Also, other medical conditions (e.g., sleep disorder, fetal alcohol syndrome, anxiety disorder, intellectual disability, and hearing loss) and side effects of some drugs can make children mimic symptoms of ADHD. Therefore, a proper diagnosis is required to ascertain the presence of ADHD.
Diagnosis
ADHD doesn’t have a specific set of diagnostic tests. However, the presence of many core symptoms and impairments can confirm the presence of the condition.

Medication: This treatment is the first line of management for older children. They stimulate the brain chemicals (neurotransmitters). There are stimulants and non-stimulants approved for managing ADHD in children.
Therapy: In addition, we offer therapy that is more appropriately suited for preschool children. Such therapy may include behavioral therapy, support group, anger management, and family therapy. Our experienced team will determine and recommend the ideal therapy for your child.
